Tooth Fairy
I think it is safe to say losing teeth is much more fun that teeth coming in. Zach lost his first tooth almost 5 and a half years (to the day) his first tooth game in. January 25, 2013. We had to chase him around the house with a piece of floss and pretend we were not going to pull it. Then we had to tell Zach the tooth fairy would come but we wouldn't let him/her in his room. Even I pulled out tooth #2, so much fun!

Happy New Year!!
I think its official - New Years Eve is my favorite holiday. Especially since the kids were born. Celebrating with them is the best. We went to a neighborhood teppan favorite with a few friends. Then we came back for ice cream, poppers and an East Coast Countdown. The mess at the end of the night sums it all up. I think this would make most people nuts (including me - most of the time) but on NYE, this kind of mess makes me happy!

Are you Jeremy's Mom?
We were at a Barnes and Noble preschool event during the holidays and a nice woman came up to me and said "Are you Jeremy's Mom?" She introduced herself as the new teacher in his room. She proceeded to tell me in the short time she has gotten to know him, what a sweet, well-mannered, smart boy he was. She ended the conversation by saying "From mother to mother," I had to tell you, you are doing something right." It really meant a lot to me. Jeremy cracks us up. He's got a lot of rhythm, can't pronounce "sp" (spoon sounds like foon), has a crazy sweet tooth, and an affinity for pink and purple stuffed animals; hates getting his hair wet, loves sponge bob, the color orange, and oh and I can't forget his "cute blanket," which is really Zach's blanket when he was a baby. I think our favorite Jeremy-ism is when he says "cover my foots." He is two and a half and he is still our little baby. Loves his crib, an end of the day bottle (I know, not good), and is no where near potty trained. We adore our little Chuey... yes that is the way he pronounced his name up until very recently.

Disneyland
Its been a while since I thought about what it meant to have a "winter break." It was important to me that the kids actually had some time to unwind and relax too - so we figured out a way for them to actually have two weeks off from school/camp/daycare. On Christmas Eve/Day, we went to Disneyland, complete with Downtown Disney, the DisneyLand Hotel, a picture with Santa (could not resist - they were complimentary) and a day at both parks. I don't know how we made it ALL day with these two little rascals but we had a great, exhausting time. For several days thereafter, Jeremy just kept saying "I don't like the boat," referring to Pirates of the Caribbean. And my big boy ... went on Splash Mountain not once but twice. I am not sure he knew what he was in for. I am not sure I remembered how big that drop was either.

I guess a UC is as good as a UC as another UC. My dad has Zach under his spell and in LOVE with UCLA. He actually loves watching the game, but he really loves all the treats and the student center. I wouldn't change it for the world but I sometimes think twice about wanting the party school over the academics and the athletics but its nice I have a second chance to enjoy it with Zach.

A day in the "fake" snow!
The Simi Valley Town Center hosted its annual snow day. They made it sound much more exciting than it really was. It was cold enough outside to actually snow that day, so we went out for a train ride, snowball fights, lunch and a little shopping.
