Crazy 8 - Take 2

January was wild. Jeremy has been such an incredibly easy baby so we were taken aback after all the changes last month. We moved, it was windy, he had a flu shot, lots of new foods, a round of antibiotics, we tried out some formula and played ALOT on the grass. Jeremy's skin started becoming troublesome. Even after I nursed him, his cheeks turned really red and his body rashy. At times, the rash was accompanied by some wheezing. The doctor ranked it a 6/10 on a scale of severity so you can imagine that this was not an ideal situation. After some initial searching around the Internet and reading our trusty Baby 411 Book, we concluded Eczema. You would think a doctor would be able to point us in the right direction but all he said was "uuh, maybe it was the blueberries..." So trying to figure out why this was happening was the real question. We looked at all the baby food we had been giving him (even the organic stuff) and everything had citric acid or lemon juice in it. I cook a lot with citrus juices and zests and read a TON about how this can exacerbate Eczema. We eliminated all baby food with citrus and started giving bubba some fancy formula. It took about two weeks for it all to get out of his system but its ALL gone!! His skin is better than it has ever been and he seems to be cured. I write about all of this in case any of my friends reading this notice some weird symptoms after exposure to citrus ... I had no idea. Here is the eight month montage I promised you!! This is seriously the happiest, most loving, mellow and friendly baby I have ever seen. I know, I'm bragging again!

Crazy 8

I owe Jeremy a blog. What I really owe him is his eight month montage. I guess it will be a few days late. This should hold you over... until then! Happy Eight Months Bubs!

Alissa

I know .. lots of babies!! Alissa and Greg welcomed their baby girl Paige this morning!! We're so happy that she waited long enough for Alissa to have her shower but didn't make her mama wait until her actual due date. It was a beautiful day and perfect company. Alissa was just waiting and waiting. We celebrated Alissa and her baby girl this weekend at my house. Alissa could not be more excited to have a little girl enter the world. Mazel Tov Alis and Greg. We hope to visit you and meet her soon!

Sarah

My good friend Sarah is having a baby boy next week! We couldn't be more excited for her!! Ronna, Melis, Keli and I went up to Santa Barbara for the day to celebrate with Sarah. I actually got to drive up the coast alone... that drive brings a huge smile to my face. It was the most relaxing hour I have had in years. :) And it always makes me realize, I just don't get to see my friends nearly enough as I would like to!

Sarah was glowing! You can see the excitement from clear across the room. Her and Nick are the cutest .. they will be great parents and we can't wait to meet their little man soon!

TEC

We have A LOT to catch up on. Since these blogs have turned into my baby books (and I plan on getting them printed) I will fill you in one entry at a time - you lucky readers! Zach started his new preschool the first week in January. To say we were sad to leave his old preschool is an understatement. We REALLY missed Zach's friends. There are a lot of things we still miss; notably Zachy's teachers and friends he's made since he was only four months but we're pretty impressed with what has transpired over the last few weeks. Zach's new teachers are awfully amazing too. They were on to Zach right away. Ms. Edit told me pretty much right away that I should get Zach into acting. He tortures me before I leave to drop him off and within 30 seconds, he is happy as a clam. I would say he knows at least half of his alphabet (maybe 3 quarters ...)he can count to ten in HEBREW .. he tells me he loves "enrichment" and he can almost write his name. OK, so I'm bragging now ...

I was invited to be the Shabbat Ema in January. It is sort of like Shabbat Star except the mamas and papas get all the stardom.

And my parents also spent some time with Zach at his new school. I think its safe to say, we are adjusted!

The View From In Here

The weather (except for today of course) has been beautiful. We have been spending a lot of time outside and enjoying a ton of fresh air. I ran in the house the other day to get a glass of water. Zach followed me in and when I looked out, this is what I saw.

After Zach ran back outside to join Jeremy, I caught them "talking" and actually playing with one another! I almost died.

And a look a bit closer ...

And a couple close-ups. We had such a nice day.
